Raleigh, NC
In 2025, Charlie Brewer and David Garfinkle had an idea that would impact NC State’s campus in unimaginable ways. What began as a small thought quickly grew into something far greater—an event that would inspire hope and bring people together. After the NC State community experienced one too many losses to suicide - 12 to be exact - Charlie and David knew something had to change.
That’s where The Fight Against Suicide began. They were determined to bring the event to Raleigh, never fully realizing just how powerful their passion would become. The first TFAS NCSU team was formed, and through hard work and a deep desire to help others, the very first Fight Against Suicide in Raleigh came to life. The event was unforgettable: a sold-out crowd, a lively atmosphere, and one message that echoed long after the night ended—you matter. More than anything, it restored a sense of connection and community that Raleigh had been missing. Because of the vision and heart of the first TFAS Raleigh team, what started as an idea has grown into a lasting tradition—one that continues to remind every member of the Wolfpack that they are never alone.
