Columbia, SC
The Fight Against Suicide in partnership with the USCM.I.N.D Club at University of South Carolina joined together for campus-wide Wellness Week to create awareness, advance prevention and provide hope around mental health and suicide.
The focus is building a culture of “mental fitness” — learning to care for the mind just as you would care for the body — through workshops, speakers, community activities, and skill-building sessions (such as recognizing and responding to signs of crisis).
The gamecocks came to fight.
The Fight Against Suicide made its mark at the University of South Carolina in 2025, bringing a powerful week of mental health awareness, training, and community engagement to campus.
In partnership with USC MIND, the week featured QPR suicide prevention training sessions, open conversations around mental fitness, and campus-wide outreach leading up to an unforgettable Fight Night. Students stepped into the ring not just as boxers, but as advocates — fighting for something bigger than themselves.
What made USC special wasn’t just the crowd or the competition — it was the unity. From student leaders to first-time attendees, the Columbia community showed up ready to break stigma and stand together for suicide prevention.
Fight Night wasn’t just an event. It was a statement.
The Classic City started the movement.
Now Columbia answered the call.
